Boyard
A boyard or boïard indicated noble in the courses medieval royal or princely of Eastern Europe: in old the Russia, some Slavic countries, or in the medieval principalities of the Balkans (Transylvania, Valachie, and Moldavie).
One can quote for example the Romanov for Russia, or Saint Irinarh, wire of boyard Moldavian.
Boyards of Valachie sent in 1802 a request to Napoleon, asking for the creation of an independent Wallachian State; boyards of Moldavie made the same request with the Empereur of Russia at the 18th century.
In literature, Elena Arseneva uses as hero in his novels located in Russia of the 11th century, a boyard of the name of Artem.
