Boeing 757

The Boeing 757 is a long-distance Airliner which took the air for the first time the February 19th 1982. It was intended to replace the Boeing 727. But it was beaten by the Airbus A310 -200 and the Airbus A310 -300.

As the majority of the planes Boeing it have two engines, in the species of the Pratt & Whitney PW2043 (or Rolls Royce RB211-535E4B).

The production of this plane ended the April 27th 2005, the last plane being for Shanghai Airlines.

It was built with 1.050 specimens of which 1.030 are always in service in 2005.

It is this apparatus which was uses on September 11th, 2001, diverts then sent on the second round of the World Trade Center and which was also destroyed close to Shanksville, it was the flight United 93.

There exist four models of Boeing 757:

  • 757-200 : transport of passengers

  • 757 PF : cargo aircraft used for the transport of freight
  • 757-200 combi : transport of passengers (between 123 and 167 passengers) and of Freight
  • 757-300 : it is lengthened of 7,1 m what allows a transport of 30 people in more and approximately 100 kg in more for freight
