Blaise Compaoré
Blaise Compaoré born the February 3rd 1951 with Ouagadougou (ex- the Upper Volta, current Burkina Faso) is a former serviceman and Burkinabe statesman.
Biography
He became president of the Republic of this country the October 15th 1987, by a coup d'etat bloody after having assassinated his predecessor and friendly Thomas Sankara to have " betrayed the spirit of the révolution".
He is the founder of the political party directing the country: the Congress for the democracy and progress.
At the conclusion of the 6th conference of the Heads of States of the Authority of Liptako-Gourma joined together with Gao (Mali) April 25th and 26th 2005, Blaise Compaoré, was taken back like chair this international organization.
At the time of the top of the Heads of States to Ouagadougou June 1st, th and 2nd 2005, Blaise Compaoré succeeded the president Malian Amadou Toumani Touré as President-in-Office of the Communauté of the Sahélo-Saharan States (CEN-Sad)
Blaise Compaoré intervened like mediator with the Togo. At the end of 2006, it is requested by the president of the Ivory Coast to also intervene as a mediator in the crisis of the Ivory Coast.
During the beginning of the month of June 2007, Blaise Compaoré was invited by Blé Goudé and Laurent Gbagbo. Whereas in 2002, at the beginning of the war; Blaise was shown by the latter to be the author of the war.
