Biswamoy Biswas is a Indian Ornithologue , born the June 2nd 1923 with Calcutta and dead the August 10th 1994.

Wire of a professor of Geology, he studies with the British Museum like with the natural history museum of zoology of Berlin (under the direction of Erwin Stresemann (1889-1972) and with the American Museum off Natural History under that of Ernst Mayr (1904-2005). He obtains his Ph.D. in 1952 of the Université of Calcutta. Later, it receives the load of the department of the Oiseau X and the Mammifère S of the Zoological Survey off India.

The flying squirrel, Biswamoyopterus biswasi Saha, 1981, was dedicated to him.
