Bischwiller

Bischwiller is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace.

Geography

The river Moder crosses the city as well as a brook being thrown in Moder. The city is surrounded by hills.

History

• Andréas Thurmann (1591 Poméranie - February 6th, 1672 Weitbruch) is Pasteur with Gries and Geudertheim 1627-1672. He is also deacon and schoolmaster to Westhoffen 1622, preacher of the ducal court with Bischwiller since 1660. Andréas Thurmann is the brother-in-law of the theologist Johann Conrad Dannhauer.
