Definition
BSP is the initials of “ Billing and Settlement Plan ” which can be translated into French by “organization and regulation of the payments and the invoicings”, it acts of a subsidiary company of AITA.
The AITA offers this service to all its approved partners, namely, the airline companies, the travel agencies, the turns opérators and other retailers approved in order to control and to organize the financial affairs between the suppliers (airline companies) and the retailers of air transport documents (plane tickets).
Operation
The BSP gathers by monthly payment (in general of the 16 to the 16 of each month) the amounts boxed by the agents retailers for each company and the amounts due to each company. Then the established BSP the balance and gathers in only one financial affair the payments of each one. Thus the BSP can be put in parallel with a banking organization although the word “Banque” does not define really what is really the BSP.
