Bilinear filtering
The bilinear filtering is a algorithm used in Infographie making it possible to calculate Pixel S intermédaires between the pixels of an image or a texture which one changes size. It is one of the processes most used since the end of the year 1990 by the accelerating charts 3D to avoid the effect of crenellation appearing in the case of a linear Filtrage.
This filtering is known as Bilinéaire in the direction or, contrary to a filtering Linéaire which is satisfied to interpolate in 1D (on the lines for example), the interpolation is made in 2D (lines, columns). This results in an effect of blur, much more pleasant with the eye than the visible squares or rectangles usually on an image increased .
