Bilibino
Bilibino (in Russian Били́бино) is a city of the autonomous district of Tchoukotka, in the extreme North-East of the Russia, located at the junction of the rivers Karalveyem and Bolshoy Keperveyem in the basin of the Kolyma, 653 km in the North-West of Anadyr. Its population is of 6 181 inhabitants (census of 2002).
The city shelters the the most septentrional nuclear plant in the world, open in 1976.
The construction of the city began in 1955 and it acquired the statute of city in 1993. Its name comes from the Russian geologist Juri Alexandrowitsch Bilibin (1901 - 1952).
