Bhopal
Bhopal is a city and an old principality of the India. Bhopal is the capital of the Madhya Pradesh with approximately 1,5 million inhabitants.
The city is famous to have been the theater of most important the industrial Catastrophe in the world: the Catastrophe of Bhopal because death of several thousands of people the night of the 2 to the December 3rd 1984.

Bhopal is the capital of the state Madhya Pradesh. Its population with the census of 2001 was of 1 433 875 h. It are located at 23°16' northern latitude and 77°36' of longitude is. Its surface is of 71,23 km ² and it is located at 523 m of altitude.

History of the principality
Bhopal is founded by the Râja Bhoja at the 11th century. There does not remain any vestige of this time, except an artificial lake. The true founder of the city that we know is Dost Muhammad , an Afghan soldier which had fled the chaos which reigned with Delhi after the death of Aurangzeb. Dost Mohammad meets the queen indigenous Gond Kamlapati which required its assistance after the disappearance of sound Prince Consort. In 1723, it created the state of Bhopal by amalgamating 9 small states. The city with the characteristic to be controlled by Bégam S between 1844 and 1926. Those, deeply religious and preserving, carried out an austere life and carried a great interest to the administrative life of their state.Among the important bégams of Bhopal, one finds Kudsiâ Bégam († 1844), Sikrandra Bégam (1816 - 1868), Shâh Jahân Bégam (1838 - 1901) and Sultân Jahân which was one of largest leading of the state.
Although controlled by Moslem leaders, the population of Bhopal was always mainly Hindu.

The Catastrophe of Bhopal is the most important known industrial catastrophe to date. In the night of the 2 to the December 3rd 1984, the escape of a silo of chemicals causes the death of more than one ten thousands of people. It still causes, 21 years after, deaths of several people every month.
