Hydrology

The flow of Beuvron was observed during one 16 years period (1970-1985), with Cheverny, locality of the Département of Loir-et-Cher located little before its confluence with the Cosson. The catchment area of the river is there of 1.100 km ² (either more or less half of the surface of this one other than the basin of Cosson).

The interannual medium flow or module of the river with Cheverny is of 6,07 m ³ a second.

Beuvron present of the seasonal fluctuations of flow marked enough, as it is generally the case for the affluents of the Loire. The high waters occur in winter-spring, with average monthly flows going from 7,57 to 14,7 m ³ a second, from December to May included (with a maximum very Net in February). The low waters of summer, from July to September, involve a fall of the monthly medium flow going up to 0,832 m ³ in August, which remains appreciable.

However, with the low water levels, the VCN3 can fall until 0,040 m ³, that is to say 40 liters a second, which very severe, is even compared with the other rivers of plain of the basin of the Loire. The VCN3 is the past minimal quantity or minimal flow over three days consecutive.

The risings, as for them, can be rather important. The QIX 2 and QIX 5, or calculated flows of biennial and quinquennial rising, are worth respectively 45 and 64 m ³. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is of 78 m ³ a second and the QIX 20 of 90 m ³. As for the QIX 50, it was not calculated, for lack of duration of sufficient observation. (see note).

Always in Cheverny, the recorded maximum instantaneous flow was of 85,7 m ³ a second on February 1st, 1977, while the value maximum day laborer was of 92 m ³ a second on February 12th, 1978. By comparing the first of these values with those of the various QIX of the river, it appears that this rising, of a vicennial nature and thus was hardly intended to reproduce every 20 years on average.

Beuvron is not a very abundant river. The Lame of water past in its catchment area is of 175 millimetres annually, which is much lower than the overall average of France all confused basins, like to the average of the total area catchment of the Loire (247 millimetres). The specific Flow (or Qsp) reached of this fact the very moderate figure of 5,5 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.

As for the module or total average interannual flow of Beuvron, to its confluence with the Loire (Cosson included), it is assembled to 11 m ³ a second.
