Berrechid ( Barchid in Arabic) is a city of the Morocco which is located in the area Chaouia wardigha. It is with 30 km of Casablanca, the economic capital. This small town counts: 54215 inhabitants (2004). Berrechid is known for its industrial park classified 3rd on the level of all the country after that of Casablanca and Tangier. Agriculture is not absent in this city since its participation at the Moroccan national level is of 13,25 %.
In 1920, the majority of constructions settled around the French administrative city, which bears now the name “Place Elistiklale”.
Beginning 1970, of the production facilities have creates an industrial park on a surface of 120 hectares.
At the end of the years 1970, the productive apparatus of the city was composes of ten unit modest sizes occupying a few hundreds workmen. By swarming of looseness from Casablanca, a fabric of industrialist developed, packed and diversified and today nearly a hundred companies are operational, offering approximately 8.000 established posts particularly in the textile, chemistry and parachimy, mechanics.
From 1980, the city knew demographic trends and the urbanization believed, because of the presence of an important park industrial, which evolved/moved the economy and the trade in the city.
It is with 32 km of Casablanca, 12 km of the airport Mohamed V, 30 km of Settat, 196 km of Marrakech, 90 km of Eljadida and 115 km of Reduction the capital.
