Accommodated, then driven out Castle of Prigny by the Yolande Princess, of which it was enthusiast, the Count wandered to the locality Sennetière. The village, formerly depend on the Moutiers-in-Retz, became common autonomous the March 23rd 1863. The history tells that the elected officials berneriens were to borrow the small bridge of the Royal Port (disappeared today) to go to the meetings of the municipal council of Moutiers. One day, an adviser who passed on the bridge, with his files under the arm, fell to water. Following this incident, Bernerie would have required its Indépendance.
After a fame made thanks to the discovery of ferruginous sources, the commune saw its curists transforming themselves into bathers. One of the sources, disappeared today, was with the locality Beltière. One can see the other while walking between the beach Maxence and the beach of Rinais, it is not unfortunately any more in activity.
About the middle of the 19th century, rich person Nantais made Côte of Jade their vacation resort. Jean-Simon Voruz, large industrial Nantes (Foundry), built a villa at the edge of the cliff, with Rock-Gray, close to Bad cold-Heart.
