Born with Strasbourg in 1948 from a father kabyle, and after studies of letters, Bernard Ghoul undertakes, under the influence of the reading of Gurdjieff and Rene Guénon, a voyage in India and to the Nepal. Of return, it enters to the Monastic order of Avallon in 1971. Become general abbot of the order in 1972, it directs it during the time of its greater activity and notoriety. Its reform projects, in the direction of one recentrement on the Community life and the monastic context, having failed, it leaves the order in 1976 by concervant the title of Abbé nullius, and turns over to the private life.
