Benoit of Brittany
Benoit of Brittany (1977 -) is a Luthier French specialized in Guitare S acoustics, cords nylon and steel, famous also for its guitars with 7 cords and manufacturer of Ukulélé S.
Born in with Montreuil-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais), he learns the violin at the 7 years age to the academy of Boulogne-sur-Mer, then studies the traditional guitar at the 12 years age. Its first steps in stringed-instrument trade are done with adolescence, as an autodidact, with American and English works; following the meeting with Marcel Dadi which advises it in its project, Benoit leaves in 1997 for the the United Kingdom in order to learn the trade, with the Leeds College off Music, with the violin maker Peter Barton. Graduate in 1999 of a diploma of state it continues his training with the London Guildhall University under the direction of Dave Whiteman. 2001, a second diploma of state out of Benoit pocket returns to France and opens its workshop with Bernieulles.
Strong musical meetings and co-operations with François Sciortino, Thomas Dutronc, Biréli Lagrène, Valerie Duchâteau, Roland Dyens, Louis Winsberg, Jean Claude Rappin, max Robin, Bruno Mursic, Christian Laborde, Michel Haumont, Corbier, Marcel and his orchestra, the ukulele club of Paris…
Writer since 2006 for Guitarist Acoustic magazine, dealing with heading " Question of Stringed-instrument trade… ". It also offers a formation in the course of the evening of stringed-instrument trade.
