Belgacom Skynet

Belgacom Skynet or Skynet is in the beginning a Belgian supplier of access to Internet. Since, the company evolved/moved to become a service provider of contents Internet and solutions marketing.

History

Skynet was founded in 1995. In 1998, the telephone operator Belgacom repurchased 100% of the shares of the company.

Initially directed towards the general public, Skynet has then widens its customers towards the professional world.

In 2000, Skynet.be became one of the first Belgian gates.

In a development strategy of its activities on Internet, Skynet acquired in 2002 The Push and Eduline . In 2003, Skynet acquired Justforyou and in 2004 Kidcity. Skynet also created in 2004 the sites ADSL.be and Arena 51 . The goal is to propose to the customers of Belgacom ADSL additional services, but also to create activities purely Internet: Arena 51, for example, aims at becoming the principal gate of plays and entertainment on line in Belgium.

This strategy was supplemented in 2005 by the creation of Skynet iMotion Activities (audio-visual production and diffusion of Belgacom TV ). In 2005, Skynet acquired all the rights of diffusion of the football games of Jupiler Ligue on the Web and the TV until 2008. For this year, the company has proposed a television service by ADSL.

In 2006, Belgacom Skynet acquired Extenseo, leader in Belgium of referencing in order to make its advertizing agency of it. Since, Belgacom Skynet took a lead in the market and is n°1 in Flanders, and does not cease widening its range of solutions digital cross-country races media.

The company then evolved/moved to offer services of contents Internet and solutions marketing in the fields of information, communication, entertainment and sales to individual and with the professionals. Thus Belgacom acquired the audio-visual rights of the Jupiler League (League 1 Belgian).

Skynet worked out a numerical offer all confused platforms (Web, Direct Media, iDTV). Via the Web: Skynet.be, the general gate of Skynet; Kidcity.be, the gate intended for the children; Arena51.be, the gate of plays and entertainment; 11online.be, the gate of football and ADSL.be, the gate reserved to the customers of Belgacom ADSL. Via the direct media: JustForYou, BusinessForYou and CarsForYou. Via the iDTV: 11, the chain of Belgian football on Belgacom TV.

Solutions marketing, media and advertizing executives:

Proposed to the professionals, they essentially include/understand the direct Marketing and of development of consumer loyalty, marketing by search engine, the productions of media and the solutions intended for the gsm.
