Before/afterwards

The before/after is a practice consisting in bringing closer two Image S to the same subject, respectively before and after a given action, in order to underline of them the consequences by the Comparaison.

Process

Typically, that consists in placing them side by side, each one of it traditionally carrying (but not necessarily) the respective legends “front” and “after”, the first usually being placed on the left and the second on the right in order to follow the direction of reading.

One finds however, in animated flows, of the alternatives where the two images are presented successively, occupying all space, possibly with a transition from the type morphing .

The impact is all the more large on the spectator that the conditions and the framing of the two catches of sight are close.

Uses

Before/after can be used with various aims:

  • At ends of Marketing : with an aim of selling a product, before/after being then supposed to prove its effectiveness; the products thinners constitute a typical example, where one compares the silhouette of an individual before and after it tested it.
