Beautiful-Air is a district in the East of Paris in the 12 {{E}} district.
Geography
The district of the Beautiful-Air is in the East of the 12th district. It is delimited:
- in North by the Course of Vincennes which separates it from the 20 {{E}} district.
- in the West by the Boulevard of Picpus and the Street of Picpus which separate it from the Quartier of Picpus.
- in the South by the Wood of Vincennes.
- in the East by the commune of Saint-Mandé.
History
The districts of Beautiful-Air and Picpus belonged initially to the commune of
Saint-Mandé. During the construction of the fortifications of Paris in 1844, they are found inside the enclosure. They will be annexed by Paris in 1860 when the fortifications become the official limit of the city.
Transport
The district is served by three lines of
subway:
- station Door of Vincennes
- stations Picpus and Beautiful-Air
- stations Michel Bizot and Gilded Door
He is also served by the drunk lines of the RATP
Remarkable places
- the Palate of the Gilded Door, located Gilded Door, previously sheltered the National museum of Arts of Africa and Oceania.
- the district of Beautiful-Air is crossed by the oriental party of the planted Promenade.
