Bazoges-in-Pareds

The territory of the commune is strewn with many Mégalithe S all classified historic buildings: Dolmen of the Moors, dolmen of the " Pierre-insane of Cous" , Tumulus of the " Cistus of Cous".

The commune has a Donjon 14th spread out over 7 levels with a beautiful crown of Mâchicoulis and a medieval Jardin and a splendid castle with church, Pigeonnier, vestiges of Fortifications, Portail Renaissance and a whole of the grounds inside the Enceinte. Must be also quoted the mound and medieval cutting off of Plessis-Bouchard, the old dovecote, the home of Velaudin and Pulteau. The church is of Romance origin with two Nef S 12th and 14th and a Coupole on Trompe S. the keep currently shelters the Museum of arts and traditions popular.

Personalities related to the commune

  • Paul-Henri Tisseau (1894-1964), translator, with his daughter Else-Marie Jacquet-Tisseau (1925-2003), of complete Works (20 volumes) of the first philosopher existentialist, the Dane Søren Kierkegaard.
