The battles of the Lily , also known under the name of fourth battle of Ypres or of battles of Estaires , belonged to the whole of the German offensives in the Flandres, the Georgette operation designed by the general Ludendorff to take again Ypres, during the First World War. The battle of the Lily proceeded April 9th 1918 with the April 29th 1918.

The second Portuguese division, ordered by the general Gums da Costa (who will become later president of Portugal), with roughly: 20000 men, lost surroundings 300 officers and: 7000 men, killed, wounded or captive, while resisting the attack of four German, strong divisions of: 50000 men, of the German armed Life ordered by the general von Quast.
