The battles of Santa Cruz of Tenerife delivered of the 22 to the August 25th 1797), is a Spanish victory over the British Marine ordered by Nelson.

Nelson aimed at the capture of the island Santa Cruz of Tenerife, with the profit of the English crown. It unloaded with the head of 4.000 British soldiers against the Spanish garrison made up of 1.700 soldiers ordered by the Guttiérez general.

The British lost 349 men, were pushed back and wounded Nelson. The Spaniards lost 72 men.
