Battle of Montjuic

The battles of Montjuic January 26th 1641 sees the victory of the Free-Catalans over the Spaniards. The Catalogne had chosen the king of France Louis XIII like Count de Barcelone in September 1640, and puts under the whole authority of the kingdom of France the January 23rd 1641 at the approach of the Spanish troops of Philippe IV. The French Army (Of which the regiments Enghien, Espenan and Serignan and some 1  000 riders which had just returned Tarragone) and the Catalan militia push back the Spaniards the 26 during the battle of Montjuic. Barcelona. Catalonia will remain French until in 1652.
