Battle of Kulm
The battle of Kulm took place the August 30th 1813 during the Sixth coalition. She opposed 32.000 men, under the command of the general of Empire Vandamme with the 54.000 men of the forces united of Austria, Prussia and Russia, under the orders of the general Barclay de Tolly
After the French victory with the Battle of Dresden the 26 and August 27th Vandamme continues the allied troops in retirement. Napoleon orders with Gouvion-Saint-Cyr and Marmont to support Vandamme. This one meets the army of Alexandre Ivanovich Ostermann-Tolstoï close to the town of Kulm (currently Chlumec, to 8 km of Ústí nad Labem, in Czech Republic).
