Battle of Castricum
The battles of Castricum took place the October 6th 1799, between the armies free Batavian, with the English and Russian armies of the Second coalition.
Context
A Anglo-Russe force of 32.000 men unloads in the north of Holland the August 27th 1799, captures Dutch with the Helder the August 30th. After the of Bergen the September 19th battles, where it is overcome, the Anglo-Russe army gains the Bataille of Alkmaar. It finds vis-a-vis the French Armies and Dutch with Castricum the October 6th.
The battle
The town of Castricum passes with the British and Russian hands the French hands and to Dutchwomen several times, but turn to the advantage of Brune and Daendels. The duke of York realizes that the position is intolerable, and orders the retirement.
Consequences
