The battles of Beaune-the-Rolande took place the November 28th 1870, during the Guerre free-Prussian. She ended in a Prussian victory.
The battle began when the 9.000 Prussian soldiers of Friedrich Franz II attacked the 60.000 men of the Crouzat general. The French took assault the German positions, but the Prussians managed to be maintained, pushing back the French. The French lost approximately 8.000 soldiers, whereas the Prussians lost of them only 817 and 37 officers.
