Batten

Term of Frame.
The batten is a rectangular plank of wood, and low thickness which, fixed beside others on the Chevron S, is intended to carry out a continuous floor to support materials of cover of roof such as Ardoise S, zinc or bituminous sealing. The floor thus made up is called the floor boarding.
