Basile Boli is old a Footballeur French, officially born the January 2nd 1967 - its birth date remaining still a polemical subject today being given the early character of its blossoming like its decline - with Abidjan (in the district of Adjamé) in Ivory Coast. It remains in the memory of French football like a player emblematic of the championship of France and especially of the OM with whom it gained the Coupe of the clubs champions.

Biography

Beginning of career

Born in Ivory Coast, Basile Boli arrives very young person to France. Endowed for the sport, it begins in the football club from Romainville in Parisian suburbs. 1991 is one year ostentation since the club is champion of France of Division 1 and finalist of the Coupe de France. But the point of organ of the season is the final of the Cut of Europe of the Clubs Champions against the Red Star of Belgrade. Disputed with Bari, in Italy, the meeting shows a tie 0-0 and the cruel meeting of the shootings to the goal. Its career under the blue shirt is not with the height of that which it has in club. Although it evolves/moves in company of players endowed like Jean-Pierre Papin or Eric Cantona, it does not gain any title.

The Blue ones do not manage to be qualified for the World cup 1990 and carry out a Euro 1992 disappointing in Sweden in spite of impressive qualificative phases. Then the eliminating heats for the World cup 1994 follow. Wounded with the knee, Basile is absent from French selection at the time of the calamitous matches of autumn 1993 which show the not-qualification of France. Basile Boli will not rejouera any more with the Blue ones.

End of a career

The end of a career of Basile Boli does not proceed in Marseilles. Indeed, the player carries out a passage in Scotland, in the club of the Rangers F.C. Besides he gains there his last title of champion of Scotland in 1995.

Then, after a turning by the ACE Monaco, it is with the Japan that it finishes its career. The club of Urawa Red Diamonds accommodates it during one year.

Policy

Basile Boli sees itself entrusting by Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy (UMP) a mission so that it incarnates this diversity of France after being approached by the PS of which it always was to be candidate at legislative the 2007 rather near. He refused the proposal of the PS and supported the candidate of UMP for the presidential one, making for example a speech at the time of the meeting of Marseilles during which he declared: All my life, I wanted to be the best. The best, today, it is Nicolas Sarkozy.

October 16th, 2007, Basile Boli was appointed national secretary of the UMP in load of the Co-development by Patrick Devedjian, general secretary of the party.
