Barefoot
A variation of the Water skiing is Barefoot (naked foot in English) and as the name suggests it one makes Water skiing without skis. Since the surface of contact with water is dramatically smaller, the boat and thus the skier must go much more quickly (between 65 and 75 km/h)
Slalom
The Skier is tractor drawn with more than 23 meters behind the boat at the speeds generally ranging between 65 and 75 km/h. The Skier then has two 15 second old courses, one in position before and one in back position to prove reliable. During these 15 seconds the goal is to cross the most possible once the wake of the boat and on a foot in order to be credited with the maximum of points if possible, knowing that a crossing on a foot is equivalent to a point.
The World records are currently higher than 21 points i.e. more than 21 crossings on a foot in two 15 seconds passages. The Record of Europe is close for him to the barrier of the 20 points The Record of France as for him of 19 points and is held by Patrick Wehner
Figures
The length of cord and speed are free here, but for physical reasons remain virtually identical to that of the Slalom. The skier always has two 15 second old courses during which it will have to carry out the most possible figures, figures which are with dimensions according to their level of difficulty. The majority of the figures are rotations of 180°, 360°, 540°, 720° which are carried out on the back for the beginner, on 2 feet or 1 alone for the candidates of a good level, and twists with the foot or while passing the leg over the cord for the candidates of international level. The somersault, emblematic figure remains one of the most spectacular figures but also one of hardest to realize.
World records, property of the American Ron Scarpa, with nearly 7500 points. The French Patrick Wehner specialist in the discipline holds the record of Europe at almost 7100 points.
The jump
Twist of 23 meters, speed maximum of 72km/h, springboard of 45cm top, such are the parameters with which the skier must compose to succeed in being posed possible further at the time of one from the three attempts from which it profits. With the appearance with beginning of the year 90 of a novel method known as reversed, where the skier finds in horizontal position after having left the springboard thus allowing for the best candidates to pass the 25 meters and to be the most spectacular discipline.
Since nearly 2 years the way of calculating of the distances was computerized leaving of with dimensions the world records of 28.10 m of German Mario Moser and the record of France to 25.70 m of Florent Pigeat, with the slightly lower profit of distance, technical precision obliges.
The compound
It is the office plurality of the points of the three disciplines, which thus makes it possible to appoint the most general-purpose skier on the whole of the disciplines.
