Barbara Honigmann

Barbara Honigmann is a novelist and painter German born on February 12th 1949 with East Berlin communist Jewish parents.

Biography

It begins as author and director of theater then emigrates of GDR in 1984 and lives since with Strasbourg. It exposes regularly to the gallery Michael Hasenclever of Munich.

It received many literary prizes, including, in 2000, the Price Kleist ( Kleist-Preis ), the second higher literary distinction of Germany after the Price Büchner ( Büchner-Preis ).
