Barachois (geography)
Barachois is word used with the Canada indicating a stretch of water Saumâtre separated from the Mer by a Sand bank. The sea water enters there to high Marée.
These sand banks are generally made of Alluvion S deposited in the Estuaire of a Rivière or a Ruisseau.
Barachois is a word Acadie N coming from “bar to be choir”.
