Bafoulabé

Bafoulabé is a city of the Mali, place chief of circle, in the area of Kayes, in country Khasso. It is located at 400  km of Bamako.

Geography

The two rivers Bafing and Bakoy meet to form the river Senegal. In Bambara, Bafoulabé means “ meets of two rivers ”. With 90  km, on Bafing, is the hydroelectric Barrage of Manantali.

History

The circle of Bafoulabé is the first circle created in Mali, in 1887. It is primarily populated Malinkés, of Soninkés, Khassonkés and Peuls.

Fily Dabo Sissoko is originating in the circle of Bafoulabé.
