B.B. King
Riley B. King , known under the name of B.B. King (born in Itta Bena, the Mississippi on September 16th, 1925), is a Guitariste, Compositeur and Chanteur of American Blues. He is regarded as one of best and the most respected the musicians of blues.
Biography
B.B King records its first songs in 1947 in Los Angeles for RPM Records. The majority of these first recordings are produced by Sam Phillips, which will create Sun Records later. B.B. King is also disc jockey in Memphis, from where it draws his nickname " Beale Street Boy" Blues; , which, shortened, gives B.B.In the Years 1950, B.B. King becomes one of the most important actors of the music R&B, with successes such as You Know I Coils You , Woke Up This Morning , Please Love Me , When My Heart Beats like has Hammer , Whole Lotta Love , You Upset Me Baby , Every Day I Cuts the Blues , Sneakin' Around , Ten Long Years , Bad Luck , Sweet Little Angel , One My Word off Honor and Please Accept My Love . In 1962, B.B. King signs with ABC-Paramount Records.
In November 1964, it records its most known album live Live At the Regal , with the Theater Treat of Chicago (Illinois).
B.B. King finds success out of the world of the blues with the title The Thrill is gone , in 1969. He is also recognized by the world of the music rock'n'roll thanks to the first part of the Rolling Stones during their American round of 1969.
From 1951 to 1985, B.B. King appeared 74 times at Billboard' S R&B charts.
In 1988, it touches a new generation with the title When Love Comes To Town , with the group U2 on their album Rattle and Hum . In 2000, B.B. King records with Eric Clapton the album Riding With the King .
Much more than to go on the way of its idol T-Bone Walker, B.B. King knew to create its own sound thanks to an inimitable touch pretense to give a real personality to its guitar.
Honors
It obtained several Grammy Award of the Best disc of traditional Blues, as well as a Presidential Medal off The Arts of the hand of the US president in 1990. In 2003 Rolling Stone classified it 3rd better guitarist of all times.
Anecdotes
B.B. King tells that when he was young musician, he played in a bar when a brawl burst. It was so violent that somebody reversed the stove which heated the part and the bar took fire. Panicked, everyone took the escape, but arrived outside, B.B. King realized that it had left its guitar inside! Knowing that it would take him several months to join together the 300 USD necessary to replace it, the future king of the blues turned over in the bar in flames to find his guitar and arisen in extremis . Thereafter, he learned that the brawl had been started because of a girl called Lucille. He then decided to invite his Lucille guitar in order to always remember not to act stupidly in the life.A bar of the same name with Moscow is dedicated to him.
Round of good-byes
Old then 80 years, B.B. King started its European round of good-byes by a concert in Hallam Arena (Sheffield, United Kingdom) the March 29th 2006, accompanied by Gary Moore, with which B.B had already recorded - in particular " Since I Puts You Baby" - and organized rounds. The British shutter of this round was completed with a concert the April 4th with the Arena of Wembley.
In July, B.B then returned on the continent of Europe to bid its farewell with the Suisse, while playing twice (July 2nd and 3rd) at the time of the 40e edition of the famous Montreux Jazz Festival like with Zurich on July 14th, with the Blues At Sunset. At the time of the festival of Montreux it occurred on the scene of the Stravinski auditorium in company of Joe Sample, Randy Crawford, David Sanborn, Gladys Knight, Lella James, Earl Thomas, Stanley Clarke, John McLaughlin, Barbara Hendricks and George Duke. The European round ended on September 19th, 2006 with the Luxembourg (Of Hull).
From November in December 2006, B.B. King gave 6 more concerts to Brazil.
At the time of a press conference on November 29th with São Paulo, a journalist asked B.B. King if it were its last round of good-byes. Its answer was: " one of my preferred actors is Scottish, it is called Sean Connery. The majority among you know in his role of James Bond, 007. One of its films is called " Never Say Never Again ."
