Aydie is located at the extreme North-East of the department. It is bordering on the departments of the Gers in north and the Hautes-Pyrénées to the est.
The grounds of the commune are sprinkled by the Larcis, affluent of the Léez.

Aydie is in Vic-Bilh (old country as Inhabitant of Béarn) and belonged to the canton of Garlin (the Pyrenees Atlantiques). Aydie counts Joseph Peyré among his most famous children. Wire of a teacher of Aydie, writer, Goncourt price in 1935 for “Blood and Lights”, Joseph Peyré often evoked his native village under the pseudonym of Jean Saint of the Vines, which evokes celebrates it vineyard of Madiran and Pacherenc whose Aydie is the floret.
