Avellaneda is a common harbor Argentinian, chief town of the homonymous partido . The city is located in the province of Buenos Aires (Argentinian). Its population is of 328.980 people (in 2001). At the beginning, the city was called Barracas Al On to take its name of today in 1904 in reference to the president of Argentina Nicolás Avellaneda.
Avellaneda is suburbs of the urban Surface of the Grand Buenos Aires and is connected to the town of Buenos Aires by several bridges which overhang the Río Matanza. Limited to the east by the Río Riachuelo, which joined the Río of Plata, in north it stops in Río of Plata, in the west it touches the partido Lanús and in the south the partido of Quilmes.
The city is also a concentration of trade and industrial centers, essential with the economy of the country, that relates to the oil refineries, the mettalurgie, the agricultural markets, the textile…
Sport
The city shelters two of the largest clubs of Football: CA Independiente and Racing Club.
