Comment
The animation of film is elaborate starting from photographs, of cuttings and joinings. General esthetics, in particular clothing of the characters, evokes the beginning of the twentieth century and that of films of Georges Méliès, which gives to the author a certain margin of freedom and imagination per hour when it is known that the voyages in space requires an elaborate technology. This deliberate intention is affirmed by the author - a scene where the hero destroys a space rocket using a fruit comes, if need be, to ratify it.The inventor of Sunday is a poet. He puts as many serious to build his rocket than his average materials or intellectuals allow it. However, its spaceship does not serve any other causes but its pleasure. And all its dignity lies in this noble cause. It will be seen that this dignity, symbolized by a top hat, is removed with the politician for whom science has aimings belligerent, and échet with the inventor.
Its poetry finally will be turned over against him. When it assists from small a rockette red, in a humanistic act, this one made fire on him. Its ingeniousness will not have the recognition which it deserves.
This short-measuring will propel Walerian Borowczyk to the row of the best organizers of its time. Its technique of animation which it still develops in its following cartoon films inspires many scenario writers and in particular Terry Gilliam.
