Artabaze (general of Xerxès Ier)
Artabaze (in Greek old Ἀρτάϐαζος/ Artabazos ), general Persian of fifth century BC
It belongs to the state major of Xerxès I {{er}} at the time of the second war medic. It remains in Greece after the disaster of Salamine (480 av . J. - C. and second Mardonios with the Bataille of Foundations. For a reason which one is unaware of, it leaves the battle field with 40.000 men and undertakes a skilful retirement towards the Hellespont.
