Armand Massard

Armand Massard (born the 1 {{er}} December 1894 and deceased the April 9th 1971) was a Escrime ur then sporting leader French. He was the first fencer named “Glory of the French sport” in 1992.

Biography

Champion of France to the sword in 1914, Armand Massard is seriously wounded at the time the First World War. He recovers from his wounds and becomes Olympic champion with the sword in 1920 with the Jeux of Antwerp and also earns money by team the same year, then bronze by team in 1928, with the Jeux of Amsterdam. Occasional Sabror, it takes down a money medal by team in 1920.

After its career of fencer, it becomes leading: chair French federation of fencing, president of the French Olympic committee of 1933 with 1967 and vice-president of the International Olympic committee.
