Armand Forel , born the April 29th 1920 with Bern and deceased the February 27th 2005 with Nyon, is a Médecin general practitioner and a communist Political personality Suisse.

Biography

Armand Forel, wire of the psychiatrist Oscar Forel and grandson of the naturalist Auguste Forel, prepare his diploma of maturity at the Tschulok Institute with Zurich of 1937 to 1939, before undertaking studies of medicine to the Université of Lausanne, from where it is graduate in 1948.

As of 1943, it engages by conviction antifascism with the Swiss Communist party (GCV) clandestine and, in 1944, becomes founding member of the Central committee of the new whole Swiss Parti Work (PST).

He is elected in 1945 with the Grand the Council of the Canton of Vaud, then, in 1947, with the National council. He will be appointed of 1945 to 1948, of 1953 to 1958, 1962 to 1981, then finally of 1986 to 1988 with the Great council of Vaud and of 1947 to 1951, then of 1955 to 1980 at the National council where he intervenes on the social questions and female like on the health questions. He is opposed to the military appropriations and defends the idea of an old-age insurance based on the only official pillar.

Established as general doctor in his town of Nyon, it is also committed at the communal level of the town of Nyon of which he is member of the legislature in 1949, then city council man between 1958 and 1962 as director of the schools and the worships, then between 1981 and 1989 with the head of the social, cultural Affairs and of fire. It is called the “doctor of the poor” to have given many consultations free.

As of 1968, it chairs Switzerland-USSR association during many years. His wife Madeleine, born Gumy, born in 1938, also sat at the town council of Nyon.
