Archdiocese of Ndjamena
The archdiocese of Ndjamena (in Latin: Archidioecesis Ndiamenanus ), with the Chad, wife limits of the areas of the xx.
History
The apostolic prefecture of Extremely-Lamy was set up the January 9th 1947 (territory taken with the apostolic prefecture of Berbérati and apostolic vicariates of Foumban and Khartoum). It lost part of its territory the May 17th 1951 with the erection of the apostolic prefecture of Moundou. It was high with the row of diocese the September 14th 1951. This last again lost part of its territory the December 22nd 1961 with the erection of the diocèce of Fort-Archambault. It is on this same date of the December 22nd 1961 that the diocese of Extremely-Lamy was high with the row of archdiocese. The October 15th 1973, it changed name and became the archdiocese of Djamena. February 1st 2001, it lost another part of its territory with the erection of the apostolic prefecture of Mongo.
