Archambault

Archambault is a chain of Magasin S of the Quebec, which sells delivers S, of the albums of Musique, the online music and the Vidéo (DVD, Blu-ray, HD DVD). It belongs to the group Quebecor Média.

History

The first Archambault shop was opened with Montreal by Edmond Archambault in 1896. It began as a store where one got partitions of music. It was located in an original manner at the corner of the Rue Holy-Catherine and the street Saint-Hubert, before being relocated on Holy-Catherine at the level of the street Berri in 1930. This shop is, still today, operational.

With time, the Archambault group diversified the sale of its products, offering now, in addition to the partitions of music; Musical instruments, albums of music and even, music to be downloaded via its online site zik.ca. The shop also sells delivers S, of the Films, the Cédérom S and others Document S Audiovisuel S.

Since November 2007, Archambault is directed by Mr Pierre Marchand, in the past at Musique More. During one year, that is to say in 2006-2007, Mr. J. Serge Sasseville was with the head of the Group Archambault Inc. Previously, Mrs. Natalie Larivière chaired the group which counts some 200 employees coming from various divisions. That is to say: Musicor, the Sélect Group, Street pedlar and Paragraph.

With the offering advent of large surfaces of very low price, Archambault, which misait before on the quality of the service and of the environment of its stores undertook aggressive publicity campaigns in the media of Québécor Média (Newspapers, Revues, VAT) misant of advantage on low price on the innovations. Were born thus the “Innovations at knock-down price” from the Tuesday to Thursday at each week.

In spite of average results of sales for a few years, Archambault Inc Has grouped. always operate fifteen branches. Archambault is a chain very montréalaise; one counts seven stores which serve Montreal and the surroundings. The eight others are distributed as follows: three in the great area of Quebec, in Sherbrooke, in Gatineau, with Three-Rivers, with St-Georges de Beauce and one of the stores founders of the chain, in Saguenay which serves with him only all Is and the North of Quebec.

In 2007, Archambault celebrates its 111 years!
