Appingedam

Appingedam is a city and a commune in the province of Groningue, in the North-East of the Netherlands. It has 12.500 inhabitants and its surface is of 25 km ². It is the smallest commune the province of Groningue.

Appingedam is a historical city, it has many curiosities, in the center are many buildings of the Middle Ages, principal attraction are the kitchens suspended ( hangende keukens ) on the top of the Damsterdiep. Tourism is important for this city which has also marinas.

Appingedam is a station on the line Groningue - Delfzijl, with two trains per hour. Station there are connections of bus bound for all the area.
