Apodidae

The family of the apodidés (or Apodidae ) includes/understands the trip hammer S and the Salangane S.

Their name comes to them owing to the fact that they have very short Patte S.

They are birds with air manners, some cash among the fastest animals, of small size with average (from 9 to 25 cm). Their wings are long and narrow, and their short legs (sometimes furnished with feathers for those which nest in the coldest and wet caves) carry powerful fingers to the sharp-edged nails. Their plumage is generally gray-brown.

Certain species are able to fly in the completely black caves while being located by echolocation. One of them, Aerodramus papuensis was located flying of night outside by using its system of echolocation. Cosmopolitans, these birds attend a broad variety of habitats, seldom far from water (soft or salted).
