Anzio

Anzio is a Italian city of the Province of Rome in the Latium. Anzio is a balneal place of stay and is known for its fishing port touristique. It is also a starting point for the ferries and the hydroplanes towards the islands Pontines of Ponza, Palmarola and Ventotene.
One knows also Anzio like the site of an unloading of allied forces (Opération Shingle) and the four months battle which followed (Campagne of Anzio) during the Second world war. The battle of Anzio is represented in the films The Wall of the Pink Floyd and Sbarco di Anzio, Lo of Edward Dmytryk.
