Antrim (of the Irishman Aontroim , meaning “simple building”) is more the big city of the Comté Antrim in the North-East of the Northern Ireland, on the edges of Six Mile Toilets, has a little more than two kilometers in the North-East of the Lough Neagh. The city is the administrative center for the County of Antrim. It is located at 35 kilometers in the North-West of Belfast.
Population
Antrim is classified as “big city” by the IE of the agency of statistics and research of Northern Ireland (NISRA) (with the population between 18.000 and 75.000). In 2001, the city counted 20.001 habitans in Antrim.- 23.1% of the population has below 16 years and 15.7% is 60 years old and more;
- 48.6% of the population is represented by men and 51.4% by women;
- 32.9% is catholic and 61.5% is Protestant;
- 3.8% of the active population (from 16 to 74 years) is without employment.

the castle of Shane and the castle of Antrim
- round towers of Ireland, (93 feet height and 50 of circumference at the base).
- There was a castle, close to the water of six miles, destroyed in a fire in 1922. All that remainder is an octagonal tower.
