Antenna punt

The antenna punt or planar antenna or planes or antenna panel is a antenna domestic particular made up of a great number of Dipôle S or granted sensors coupled (and still of multi-horn type) on a plate contained in a volume of a few centimetres thickness.

Satellite

A universal Tête is integrated there into the back, within the framework of the reception of the Satellite television, in particular for mobile installations or in the open air, nomad. Indeed its obstruction and its catch with the wind are weaker than for a parabolic Aerial. Its profit is proportional to its surface of harvest. The antennas punts “Kathrein” of 48 × 48 × 3 cm (dipole, 35 dB and bipolarisation) or 34 × 34 × 5 cm (horn, “Camos”) are preferable with the antennas punts of 42 × 22 × 5 cm (30 dB monopolarisation, V practices “Neovia”) which dysfonctionnent more quickly during the episodes characterized by more marked hydrometeors (cut of service or black screen).

NB: a new antenna rectangular punt, H and V, having a profit of 35,7 dB (what is equivalent to a diameter of parabola of 58 cm) will be marketed soon and usable for the reception of the free and paying ranges of satellite channels via Atlantic-Bird 3, Hot-Bird and Astra, in France, Belgium, in Luxembourg and in Switzerland.

The antennas punts are famous being those which bring the best output, near to 85 %, compared to their dimensions lower than the parabolic aerials, 60 with 73 %.

All these antennas punts are compatible only with only one orbital position, contrary to the parabolic aerials.

WIFI, ISM

For other applications, ex Wi-Fi, ISM or radiomateurs there exist versions with technology interns different, quad or patch. These antennas are also known under antenna panel .

Terrestrial TV

For the reception of TNT in UHF, channels 21 to 69, the manufacturers propose panels (usual use chechmate of antenna) with 4 elements in “><” presenting an average profit of 13 dB with an aperture about 45°. Is appropriate particularly for several transmitters being located in different azimuths (50 with 60°) but at identical polarization.

Recently, the offers plus design multiply (antenna “known as TNT” or “patch” or “shark” or “punt”) all hooded but with the performances very limited (up to 2 even 3,5 dB in UHF, +/− 0 dB in VHF III) although they are equipped, generally, of a Préamplificateur of antenna broad band to compensate for the losses HF. These antennas are available either for outside (and interior) with fixing mast, or only for the interior (see Antenne of interior)

These antennas often announced like “special TNT” (?) tempting of aspect, can be used only under conditions of sufficient and homogeneous and not-saturated field (inter/overmodulation).
