Annotate Tong

Anote Tong (born in 1952 -) is a politician gilbertin of Chinese origin by his/her father installed with the Kiribati after the Second world war.

Tong is the President of the Republic Kiribati since the July 10th 2003. He was re-elected on October 17th 2007 for one 2nd mandate with 64% of the voices (but these elections knew a weak participation, hardly higher than 50%, because of the watchword of the opposition which was estimated badly represented by the four candidates selected in his center by the Maneaba nor Maungatabu).

Party: Boutokaan you Koaua : “pillars of the truth”. Elected official with 47,4% of the voices the July 4th 2003 for a four years mandate. Re-elected in 2007 for a second mandate. Younger brother of the doctor Harry Tong, its principal adversary with the presidential election.

It is graduate London School off Economics.
