Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer born on December 25th, 1954. She in particular was the singer of the duet Eurythmics.

Childhood and formation

Artistically early, she attends a school for children Surdoué S. She also studies the Flûte with the Royal Academy off Music of London.

Career

After having been during three years the singer of the group The Tourists, Annie Lennox reaches the celebrity as a singer of the Duo Eurythmics, at the origin of pieces which count among greatest successes of the Années 1980 ( Sweet Dreams , Here Comes The Rain Again , Would I Binds To You? , There Must Be Year Angel , Missionary Man , You Have Placed has Chill In My Heart , Don' T Ask Me Why , The Miracle Off Coils and well others…). After its rupture with Dave Stewart (other half of the duet) in 1991, it starts a career solo.

Its first album solo, Diva in 1992 is a great success carried by individual the Why inter alia, of many rewards and a participation in the original soundtrack of the Dracula of Francis Ford Coppola. Three years later appears Medusa , album of Reprise again S, with the satisfactory sales. In 1997 it re-records the song of Eurythmics Angel for the homage to Diana, princess of Wales. In 1998 it renews contact with Dave Stewart and reforms the Eurythmics group in 1999 for the album Peace . In 2003, it left its third album solo, Bare .

In 2004, Annie Lennox gained the Oscar better song for the title Into the West of third film of the Trilogie of the Seigneur of the Rings, the Return of the King. It had also recorded Use Well the Days for the film, titrates whose words take again many quotations of Tolkien. This song was not used in film, but it appears on a DVD no-claims bonus included with an special edition of the original soundtrack.

In July 2005, Annie Lennox took part in the concert of the Live 8 with Hyde Park, with London. In 2005, she sings Hush, Hush, Hush , a Reprise again of Paula Cole that one finds on the album Possibilities of Herbie Hancock.
