Anne de Foix
Anne de Foix (1480 -1506), of French origin, was queen of Bohemia and marries Vladislas IV of Bohemia.
Anne was the girl of Gaston count de Candale and of Catherine de Foix, and thus relationship of the French royal family. Its marriage with the Bohemian king of and Hungary was the consequence of a political bringing together between Louis XII and the Jagellon against the Turkish projections and the expansion of the family Habsbourg. The marriage contract is signed on March 23rd 1502.
Anne de Foix share in Hungary on September 29th, 1502, before the weddings. It is crowned with Székesfehérvár queen of Hungary. It crowned forever queen of Bohemia, because enthusiastic catholic, it had important prejudices against the utraquists, and refused to enter the grounds of Bohemia.
July 23rd 1503, it gives rise to Anne Jagellon.
July 1st 1506, it gives rise to Louis II of Hungary. The king Vladislas IV of Bohemia had finally a male descent. Although of weak constitution, the newborn remained in life. On the other hand Anne de Foix died following the childbirth.
