The Ankole also called Nkore , is one of the five traditional kingdoms of the Uganda. It is located in Ugandan south-west, in the east of the Lac Albert. It is currently directed by a King named Mugabe or Omugabe de Nkole.

History

August 1st The kingdom was officially abolished in 1967 by the government of President Milton Obote. Contrary to the other kingdoms such as the Buganda, it was not officially restored. The population of Ankole is called Banyankole . The spoken language is the Runyankole, a language bantoue.
