Anita Lane
Anita Lane , born at the end of the Years 1950 with Melbourne, is a Chanteuse and Australian parolière . Implied as of the beginnings in the projects of Nick Undermines and, in particular, of its group the Bad Seeds, it, at their sides, exerted a notable influence on the scene Post-punk European of the beginning of the Années 1980. It preserved this period a singular artistic complicity with Mick Harvey, with which it collaborates regularly. The Birthday Party
Anita Lane starts to sing and write songs at the sixteen years age, encouraged by her classmate Rowland S. Howard, future guitarist of The Boys Next Door and The Birthday Party, the first two groups of the singer Nick Cave. It at that time becomes the boyfriend of Nick Cave, with which it leaves to London in 1980, when him and its group decides to leave the Australia to settle in Europe. She writes for The Birthday Party the words of several songs, before the implosion of the group in 1983.
Nick Undermines and The Bad Seeds
Anita Lane is sometimes quoted like member founder of the group Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, born from the debris of Birthday Party. Its influence on Nick Cave is undeniable, although its only participation as singer within Bad Seeds summarizes herself with a verse of the Reprise again of Bob Dylan Death Is Not the End , appeared on the album Murder Ballads . It has however Co-writing with Nick Cave the words of several pieces of the group, of which it song-title of the first album of Bad Seeds, From Her To Eternity , in 1984, and Stranger Than Kindness , on Your Funeral… My Trial , in 1986. In parallel, it starts to play and record its own songs. In 1988, it works with the German group High Die, before recording its first album solo, Dirty Sings . Collaborate in this album Nick Cave and three other members of Bad Seeds, Barry Adamson, Thomas Wydler and Mick Harvey.
Anita Lane and Mick Harvey
Collaborations between Anita Lane and Mick Harvey are interesting in what the work of the latter makes it possible to underline the Dichotomie between the almost childish voice and sensuality of the words of the singer. Anita Lane takes part thus in the two albums of Reprise again S of Serge Gainsbourg produced and interpreted by Mick Harvey, Intoxicated Man in 1995 and Pink Elephants in 1997. Previously, in 1993, Mick Harvey had produced the album Dirty Pearl , a compilation which joins together pieces resulting from work of Anita Lane with the German groups Einstürzende Neubauten and High Die, and some news in solo. Mick Harvey Co-writing on this disc several songs, of which the tube The World' S.A. Girl . The most recent collaboration to date between the two artists goes up with 2001, for the album Sex O' Clock Anita Lane.
