Andrei Makine
Andreï Makine is a French writer, born with Krasnoïarsk in Siberia the September 10th 1957.
Biography
Andreï Makine is born the September 10th 1957 with Krasnoïarsk (Siberia). He obtains a doctorate in letters of the Université of State of Moscow Lomonossov after having deposited a thesis on the contemporary French literature. He teaches then philosophy at the Institute Novgorod and collaborates in the Russian review modern Littérature abroad .In 1987, within the framework of the cultural exchanges between France and the USSR, he is reader in a college. It is at this time that it decides to remain in France. He obtains the political asylum and devotes himself to the writing while giving some courses of literature and Russian culture to the National university and with Sciences Po.
After the refusal of its first manuscripts by the editors, the first which it succeeds in making publish is the girl of a hero of the Soviet Union in 1990 while making believe that this one is a translation of Russian. Two years later, it deposits a thesis of doctorate in the Sorbonne devoted to the work of the Russian writer Ivan Bounine (1870-1953). It obtains in 1995 the Prix Goncourt, the Prix Goncourt of the high-school pupils and the Prix Médicis ex æquo for its novel the French Will .
